Everything Grows with Love
doing one good deed a day

These are challenging times for all of us. As many have lost homes to foreclosure, jobs, health insurance, savings,
pensions, college fund, and security as they knew it.

Students are competing for jobs with their parents, and retirees are forced to start over at what should have been their twilight years.

The grim reality is that these issues are not new for the needy and under-served. On a daily bases in the United States, the elderly are forced to make a choice between their medication and food.  Children are under nourished, with their only decent meal is from school, while the lone individual is disenfranchised from family and friends and left to fend for themselves with no where to turn.

To stabilize the economy, programs that support the elderly and children are being cut, and individuals without support are losing jobs by the thousands!

Realizing we are all connected is a big step towards change. The economic downturn has affected the lives of many. Those who were in unstable situations before, now find themselves in dire straits.

One could ask if these desperate times are a result of our self-indulgence, overwhelming corporate greed, and lack of concern for our fellow man. To make true change we need to adopt principles of supporting one another by working together as neighbors and communities.

This economic situation may be the opportunity we all need to change our lives, and reassess our wants and needs.

Who We Are
Mutual Appreciation Society is a volunteer organization dedicated to the betterment and improvement of life for all living beings.

A community based volunteer organization that works to lessen the strife of others by providing a network of friends, neighbors and communities to help assist individuals and families in a time of need.

Through community efforts we focus on giving a helping hand to individuals whose basic needs are not met- or simply under met  by larger organizations.

We don’t proclaim to do it all, we simply try to make small changes in the lives of many on a regular basis. We understand that improving the life of one goes a long way towards improving life for all. And these tough times we are all facing is nothing new for the desperately under-served.

Increasing Our Reach Through Public-Private Partnerships

Expanding our reach to public and private institutions allows us to increase the effectiveness in service. If you are a business owner or director of an institution and would like to help, please contact us: ichanged@mutualappreciationsociety.org

How you can help!

Donating your time is just as valuable as making a financial contribution.  There are many ways to donate:

  1. Checking in on Neighbors; the elderly, individuals, single-parents.

  2. Providing assistance where needed; picking up an extra loaf of bread/ milk at the grocery store, baby-sitting, sharing a cooked meal.

  3. Offering a sympathetic hear; inviting your neighbor and friends over for coffee/ tea.

If you are unable to volunteer, please print out the Do Something Good page and post it somewhere visible in your home and/or office. Making a conscience effort to do at least one good deed a day. It may seem like a small token, but the repercussions will have an everlasting effect for you and those you help.

Doing one good deed a day helps to lessen the fear of uncertainty everyone is feeling.  By helping others we abandon our self interest and fully appreciate what we have; and the opportunity to give, is itself the reward.

To make a financial contribution, please send us an email, your donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I believe that with all of the talent and ability and strength that people in this country have, that they can use that to, not merely to further themselves, but to improve the society in which they live. And to realize that their improvement of themselves is best assured by strengthening and improving the lives of others.
